Cornell University - Johnson School of Business
Founded in 1946, the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management is a graduate business school located at Ithaca, New York, USA at Cornell University. It is a private university and member of the Ivy League.
The school is named after S.C. Johnson, known for founding the global consumer products and chemicals company that bears his name. In 1946 the school was housed in Malott Hall. Later in 1984, the school was renamed after benefactor Samuel Curtis Johnson, Sr.. He and his family contributed a $20 million endowment gift to the University, which at that time was the largest gift to any business school in the world.
The University offers a unique and challenging academic experience for MBA graduate students. It places enormous value on the quality of instruction its students receive. Programs are student focused and offer a reality based education, rather than relying on lectures and case studies. The faculties teach rigorous courses, grounded in the theory and practice of management. They are serious about being good teachers. MBA courses build foundational knowledge in students and explore how the learning affects the current business environment. Course evaluations on multiple teaching and curricular measures are published for the benefit of students and to provide feedback for faculty. The Johnson School's Accelerated MBA program offers a 12-month path to an advanced MBA degree, leadership experience, technical skills, and preparation for the business world. The excellent teaching is recognized each year, when students are recognized through teaching awards in each MBA Program. This school has an excellent career placement record. On average, more than 90 percent of students receive at least one job offer upon graduation.

Cornell University Johnson School of Business was ranked 11th among national MBA programs by BusinessWeek in 2008, 7th by Forbes in 2009, and 17th by U.S. News and World Report in 2009. The Executive MBA program has been ranked first in the Northeast by BusinessWeek. The World Resources Institute and Aspen Technical Institute ranked the school 9th best in Beyond Gray Pinstripes, which ranks schools based on student preparation on the social, environmental, and economic perspectives required in a global economy. In addition, The Financial Times ranked this school 17th and The Economist ranked this school 15th in the United States in 2007/2008. The Wall Street Journal ranked the EMBA program 7th in 2008.
