Anurag Mairal
Dr. Mairal is the Founder and CEO of Gurome (previously TestPundit). Concurrently, he is an Associate Director at the Stanford India Biodesign at Stanford University. He is also the Co-Founder of South Asian MBA Association (SAMBAA), a global network of MBAs with interest in South Asia. Dr. Mairal serves on the boards of several for-profit and non-profit organizations. Prior to this, Dr. Mairal was a Product Director at Cordis and a Business Development Director at Johnson and Johnson. Dr. Mairal has received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Ravishankar University, Raipur; a Master of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he pursued graduate research in membrane separations. Dr. Mairal was also a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Twente, Netherlands and at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Mairal has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Mairal scored 770 on his GMAT exam and has over 5 years of experience teaching for GMAT. He has a passion to teach and help his students excel. When not teaching, he can sometimes be seen mentoring and advising groups of students at a neighborhood coffee shop.
Alvin Ng
Alvin Ng is the Co-Founder and Director of Operations of Gurome (formerly TestPundit). As the Director of Operations, his responsibilities include managing the day-to-day activities of the company and overseeing the organizational and legal structure of Gurome. In addition, Alvin is also responsible for the planning and budgeting of the company's operations, including managing Gurome's overall finances. As a member of Gurome's Board of Directors, he is part of the team that shapes the company's mission and purpose. Alvin holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. When he is not engaged in Gurome activities, he works on renewable energy initiatives, specifically, applying membrane-based technologies for carbon capture and biofuels production. An avid sports fan, he also loves to travel and read, and is always up for a scintillating gastronomic experience. Alvin currently lives in Milpitas, California with his wife and daughter.
Rahul Lakhani
Rahul Lakhani wears many hats at Gurome. He serves as the Director of Technology, Director of Sales and Marketing, and also as Country Manager for Gurome India. As the leading technologist on the team, Rahul plays a central role in driving the technological roadmap for Gurome. As the leading Sales and Marketing guy, he works on inbound and outbound sales, marketing programs, partnership development, sales analytics. As the country manager for Gurome India, he leads the company's operations in the Indian market including managing the human resources, product development, sales and marketing, business development, finance and anything else that is needed. Rahul closely follows the MBA blogosphere and often blogs about interesting events and developments in the MBA world. As a part of the Gurome board of directors committee, Rahul helps shape the strategic direction for the company. After completing his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, Rahul spent a few years in Austin, Texas before moving to the Silicon Valley area in California. Rahul gained his experience at companies including Google, Broadcom, and AMD. Other than a passion for entrepreneurship, Rahul is an avid fan of Formula One Car Racing and Soccer.
Arpita Sen
Arpita is the Director of Admissions Consulting and Verbal Content Development at Gurome. In this role, she manages a team of content developers, focusing on quality assurance and content creation protocols. Working closely with Dr. Mairal, she coordinates Gurome's highly personalized admissions consulting process. She is one of the most prolific bloggers on Gurome's community for MBA aspirants, and a resident expert on verbal questions posed by those preparing for GMAT. Arpita serves on the internal board of directors, an executive body responsible for strategic direction and management of Gurome's activities. Before formally joining the Gurome team, Arpita was a freelance verbal content developer for Gurome, a leading GMAT test preparation services and products provider and a Gurome enterprise. Prior to Gurome, Arpita worked for 4 years at IMS Learning Resources Pvt. Ltd., one of the leaders in the Indian MBA test-prep industry. Recruited by IMS to lead their verbal material development, she also taught GMAT, GRE, and CAT (the Indian equivalent of GMAT) students and counseled students. Earlier, she taught undergraduate and post-graduate students as a faculty member at several colleges in Kolkata and Mumbai. Arpita is passionate about English literature and the language, having graduated magna cum laude in the subject. She has a BA in English literature and an MA focused on American literature from University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India. Graduated at the top of the university honor roll in both undergraduate and graduate schools, Arpita received merit-based scholarships throughout her college education. In her spare time, Arpita likes to express herself through her poetry, which she has not yet published despite pressures from friends. She also indulges in occasional IQ tests and crossword puzzles to keep her grey cells ticking, and has a voracious appetite for reading fiction and non-fiction. Although her schedule leaves very little time for it, she enjoys painting and sketching.
